Workshop Content

A new 2 hour workshop for dancers to explore the various fun ways we can dance Modern Jive such as,

  • Partner Blind (taking it in turn to wear a blindfold)
  • Music Mashup (dancing to short clips of music in succession)
  • Steals (three people but only two dancing at any one time)
  • Quick rotation (rotating around a number of partners to the same song)
  • Dancing in public spaces

These different activities are also categories in many Modern Jive dance competitions, they're not only fun but also highlight aspects of technique that benefit our regular social dancing.

This workshop is not about being judged but about improving one's own enjoyment and dance skills.

Attendees should be able to:

  • link moves together without stopping
  • dance most of the standard beginner moves

The workshop will be presented by Matt and Zoe. Zoe is a long time experienced dancer who currently teachers on Friday nights.
