Prepared Freestyle

Rules Judging

Prepared freestyle is somewhere inbetween pure freestyle and a showcase / choreographed dance. Dancers will be able to choose a piece of music from a given list, choose a section about 2 minutes long and are welcome to prepare, choreograph or freestyle as much of their dance as they wish.

The sum of the levels of each partner must be in range 5 or above (e.g. 2 + 3, 3 + 3, 4 + 1 etc.)
All moves are allowed including full aerials

How it works - In general

There will be a maximum of 6 couples competing
Couples will dance to their chosen song as a spotlight on the Friday evening.

Floor Dimensions

The dance floor will be at least 18m wide x 12m deep.

📋 Judging Criteria

Given that couples will have two weeks to prepare their freestyle, judges will be looking at how each couple reflect their song in their dancing through musicality and / or choreography.

🎵 Music

Each couple will choose a piece of music from a list of songs which will be released at least two weeks before the competition. Each couple must use a different song. First in, first served.

Couples can choose a section of the song approximately 2 minutes in length which will be edited by the organiser for the performance. The section can start at any point in the song.
